The body is derived of the high calories carbs and when it gets them back, you are bound to pile on lot of weight.

The zone diet has not yet been approved by the American Heart Foundation. According to them, the diet focuses only on proteins, which can lead to deficinecy of many other essential nutrients. Another drawback with the zone diet is that there is not much information available about it. There is no literature to prove its effectivness over a period of time. There are also not enough proof to support the claims made by the zone diet.

Many people prefer the Soy Zone diet over the simple zone diet. The Soy diet is ideal for vegetarians whose protein requirement could be met by the soy protein that is used in the diet. The zone diet was not prefered by vegetarians as it had high meat content.

The zone diet can work for you depending on your body type. Also you don’t need to follow the diet strictly. You can very well add certain essential nutrients to your diet which are missing from the zone diet. Before you start with the diet, you need to consult your doctor to make sure that the zone diet suits your body type.
